For these 10 months, I have so far only read 10 books. Yeah, yeah, it's too fewer an amount. But actually starting from Nov 2005 and ending July 2006, I have already finished with 10 books. I was really proud of this since I have never managed to digest so many books within this such short period of time (i.e. within a couple of months). Well, the 10 books' marathon (it must be called that because it is considered not easy to finish 10 books) did really have me gasping for air but I did learn a lot from reading. I was able to live in other characters, diving myself into different enviroments, so on and so forth. A study has recently revealed that if you mamage to read a couple of books within a same time frame (let's say within a month), it would increase your intelligence. But it might sometimes get confusing as you really need to follow a few different stories at the same time. I am going to embark on a new marathon (I should change it to Bookathon, perhaps?) but don't know whether it can be successful. Here the ten books I have read in the last couple of months (in what-being-read-first order) :
1. The Island of Dr. Moreau, HG Wells
2. The Curious Incident of The Dog in The Night Time, Mark Haddon
3. The Da Vincci Code, Dan Brown
4. The Tesseract, Alex Garland
5. The Digital Fortress, Dan Brown
6. Coma, Alex Garland
7. Jump-In, Mark Burnett
8. The Dreamcatcher, Stephen King
9. Harry Porter and The Half-blood Prince, JK Rowling
10. The Lord of The Flies, William Golding
Some in the list are short like No. 1, 2 and 10 so that is why I can cover 10 but hey, some in the list are long ones. I won't give any bad comments on the books like which are the bad one. I think overall I like all the books on the list. Currently I am reading Neil Gaiman's American Gods and Nick McDonell's The Third Brother. Wish me luck :)
